As an artist, I believe that Art is the highest expression of humankind and that Art is the most authentic product that the human mind/ soul produces. I want to connect to a genuine humanity and our ancestors, and I reject the "New World Order" and desire a return to the "Old World Order" regarding genuine living, interpersonal relationships, honor codes and thoughts on ethics and virtue. I also strongly oppose the globalization of agricultural production and the elimination of the world's small family farms that is being perpetrated by huge global corporations. Authentic human life must include genuine and pure agricultural production, such as the food (slow food, as opposed to fast food), wine, and the abundance humans harvest from the soil. This also must include clean water and a "Slow Life" style of slow living. Cibo Slow/ Vita Slow! Art also promotes genuine humanity and is a product of superior thought and it is through Art that mankind will redeem itself in the face of our modern age's states of vulgarity and conformity. Modern society's creativity and originality are submerged in a dark sea of conformity and massification. True human artistic creativity is dependent on beauty to thrive and it is only through Art that we can discover our true essences as beings of a higher intellect (and the ability to create is indeed what separates man from the apes). I, as an artist, attempt to connect to genuine human living.
This dedication to Art and beauty is part of the motivation that propels me to express my grief about stolen works of art, looted antiquities and art crimes in my work. A large portion of modern society (the world's small artistic, creative community excluded) is largely artificial, stultifying and boring and, although it is very capable of creating large quantities of consumer goods and high technologies, it is unable to connect to its own natural sources of creativity. Humankind's market place values, commercialism, greed and superficiality have not only weakened its natural creative force, but it has doomed art markets to soar to outrageous prices, creating the atmosphere in which art thieves thrive. Only a spiritual renaissance born out of Art, philosophy, spirituality, and aesthetics can save humankind's wretched soul and crimes against Art and patrimony must once and for all be declared just as detrimental to humankind as is human trafficking, terrorism and drugs/arms smuggling.
